Dearborn City Council is served by seven council people elected in staggered election process; all seven seats are up for re-election in 2013 for a four-year term.

At the urging of numerous citizens and civic and business leaders, Susan Dabaja, a seasoned Dearborn attorney and lifetime resident of the city, has filed to run for city council in 2013.

A primary election will be held on Tuesday, August 6, where the top fourteen candidates will run for the top seven seats in the general election on Tuesday, November 5.
